HarvestPlus one of 4 finalists in tough MacArthur Foundation 100%Change Competition.

Dear  friends,
We learned the exciting news today that HarvestPlus has been awarded $15 million as a finalist in the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation’s 100&Change competition.

We are deeply grateful for this generous award and we are humbled to receive such recognition of the remarkable achievements of our staff and partners around the world.

This progress has been made possible by the pioneering work of researchers, the support of donors, the commitment of governments, the dedication of civil society and non-governmental organizations, the investment of the private sector, and above all, the vision and tenacity of the farming families who are adopting biofortification with such enthusiasm.

We thank all who have helped us reach this important milestone.  We are sincerely grateful to the MacArthur Foundation’s Board of Directors, staff, and advisors, who believed so passionately in the scalability and sustainability of our Program.  We look forward to working with them now as our donor and champion of biofortification as we expand our operations to reach millions of people affected by hidden hunger and give them access to more nutritious crops.

We also congratulate our fellow finalists, whose work and friendship continue to inspire us as we pursue our common mission to improve the lives of children and families around the world.  In particular, we congratulate Sesame Workshop and the International Rescue Committee, who have been awarded the $100 million prize to support their important work to educate refugee children.
