CASSAVA and sweet potatoes. Lablab beans and water berries. Bitter gourds and sickle sennas. Elephant ears and African locusts. Some will be familiar to readers in rich countries. Others, probably not. Elephant ears, for example, are leafy vegetables. African locusts are tree-borne legumes.

  1. OFSP is a wonderful concept on which African scientists are working to ameliorate VAD. Impact of their contribution is being felt in various African countries. They should take lead in teaching Asian administrators and scientists to copy. Rest of the world would have given Africa many things but OFSP is exclusive thing that Africa can give to Asia and rest of the world.

May be Asia will recognize their contribution more than what World Food Prize gave them.
