Commercialization Opportunities for Orange Fleshed Sweet Potato: Kenya, Malawi and South Africa

October 30, 2018

In theory, Sub-Saharan Africa could feed a large part of the world. Yet the region struggles to achieve its full agricultural potential, let alone its potential in agricultural value addition and processed foods. In this webinar, presenters from the USAID Investment Support Program and Dalberg will discuss the process of assessing markets, identifying high-potential opportunities that may drive economic growth and competitiveness, and what they found when conducting those analyses.

Building on the International Potato Center (CIP)’s deep content expertise on sweet potato varieties, breeding and agricultural practices, the USAID Investment Support Program, implemented by Dalberg, explored off-take markets across product applications and geographies, with a particular focus on the demand-side perspective, processor needs and business cases. CIP will join this webinar as experts in the chat window to respond to specific questions on orange fleshed sweet potato (OFSP) that may arise over the course of the presentation.

Please join Agrilinks for this important presentation and discussion on mobilizing private capital into the food and agriculture sector. The USAID Investment Support Program will present a recent study on investment analysis and opportunities for OFSP in Malawi, Kenya, and South Africa. The tools and methodologies discussed can be applied broadly to many products and geographies. Join us for the (vitamin-A) rich discussio
