World Cup Betting Predictions
January 15 - January 16Free
Find our predictions in bold text and odds in decimal and fractional format. Please remember that the odds can change constantly and they vary at different bookmakers.
Spain won the last World Cup, which was held in South Africa in 2010, and is once again one of the favourites in 2014. We believe they still has a great team and some proven winners, therefore we will be placing a bet for 4.30 – 33/10 on Spain to reach the final. Brazil of course, being the home nation as well as the all-time leaders in cup triumphs, is the favourite among most bookmakers.
Some of the other favourites are all former World Cup winners. These include Italy, with four cup wins, Germany, who has won it three times, Uruguay and Argentina, who have won it twice apiece and England, Spain, and France, who won it once each.
However, there are now some strong African nations who could pull off an upset, such as Ivory Coast. Mexico always fields a good team and Colombia is now on of the best ranked teams in the world. There are also a couple of strong teams in Europe who have never won the cup, such as Holland and Portugal. And don’t forget Belgium… with players like Kompany, Hazard, Lukaku, Mignolet etc, that has dominated in the Premier League, you never know. However, they don’t have experience of progressing far in big international tournaments so we will go for bet of 4.00 – 3/1 for Belgium to go out in the quarter-finals.
We also have a feel for Portugal, and will try a gambling bet on the Portuguese to reach the semifinals for 10.00 – 9/1.
Here are some other bets we found good value in:
- Algeria lowest scoring team at 9.00 – 8/1
- Spain and Holland to qualify from group, 1.95 – 19/20
- Mexico to qualify from group, 2.10 – 11/10
The matches will be held at 12 different venues in Brazil. These cities are Rio de Janeiro, Recife, Salvador, Sao Paulo, Porto Alegre, Natal, Manaus, Fortaleza, Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Cuiaba, and Curitiba.

When it comes to predictions for top goalscorers, there are many excellent choices at the moment. Messi is the favourite, but we don’t think it’s a good bet at 8.50. We have identified these as the best bets for the Golden Boot winner: Sergio Aguero (Argentina) for 17.00 – 16/1 and Van Persie (Holland) for 26.00 – 25/1.
