SPHI Brief 2014: Scaling Up Sweetpotato Through Agriculture and Nutrition in Mozambique

Despite the OFSP introduction into Mozambique, sweetpotato is still grown for home consumption mainly. This hinders supply to urban consumers usually depending on these markets. Government collaboration with SUSTAIN aims to achieve a better nutrition status through the production, marketing and consumption of a biofortified crop: the Orange-fl eshed sweetpotato (OFSP). This collaboration launched OFSP market monitoring system and insights for consumer patterns, OFSP awareness, market opportunities
