Climate changes especially drought has adverse effects on sweetpotato. Planting materials/vines that survives in drought prone areas poses desirable tolerant trait. This presentation focuses on ongoing development of rapid screening methods for selecting drought tolerant lines. The proposed approach method starts with field trial establishment, physiological and agronomic analysis, and biochemical analysis for drought stress hormones (ABA). Some preliminary observations are yield decrease with increased water stress.
