Tanzania’s lake region is a major sweetpotato (SP) production area as SP is important to small holder farmers. Limited quality planting materials and information are prime constraint to SP continuous production. This presentation reports on informal seed systems impact as compared to formal sector potential. Major study findings include increased number of multipliers regionally and increase in on farm direct sales resulting from formal seed system inclusion.
