This presentation reports sweetpotato (SP) cultivar decline due to viruses in Uganda. SP are vegetatively propagated hence chances of systemic pathogen accumulation and cultivar degeneration. The study findings show high virus incidence exercising synergistic interactions. Another observation is single or co-infection leads to cultivar decline and concludes by encouraging farmers to use clean starting materials.
