This presentation outlines some market challenges within Kenya for sweetpotato (SP) farmers. Informal markets dominate over formal markets; however, SP farmers face several challenges start at farm level, market level and consumer level. The farm level limitations are such as seasonal production, mixed varieties, limited pre-post-harvest management skills and improper standard packaging. They are described to play important role in other levels challenges. In conclusion, nutritional marketing can influence SP demand which influences adoption of clean planting material and seed multiplication.
