FIFAMANOR – Madagascar
The main constraints that the project seeks to address are:
– the lack of financing even so from the government
– the control of bacterial wilt of potato
– the difficulty of the procedures recommended by the government
The objective of FIFAMANOR is to contribute to the improvement of the livelihoods of farmers by promoting the following:
– Roots and tubers crops
– Wheat and triticals
– Forages (grass) crops
– Milk production (animal feeding, breeding improvement of dairy cattle, etc.)
The working area of FIFAMANOR is the Vakinankaratra region which is located in the central highland of Madagascar. However, FIFAMANOR has the mandate to work in any other part of Madagascar, depending on availability of funding.

Key Project Information
FIFAMANOR is center for rural development and applied research. It was created in 1972 upon a bilateral agreement between the Malagasy and Norwegian Governments. The technical tutorial Ministries are the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Livestock. The financial tutorial Ministry is the Ministry of Finance and Budget. It’s a Public Institution for industrial and commercial purpose (EPIC). The objective of FIFAMANOR is to contribute for the improvement of livelihoods of farmers by promoting the following speculations: Roots and tubers crops (sweetpotato, potato and taro), Wheat/triticale and milk production (fodder crops or animal feeding, breeding improvement of dairy cattle). Others missions of FIFAMANOR are Developing a social program to integrate women in all on-going activities; Serving as a centre for capacity building and offering training services for activities within its capacities. The working-area of FIFAMANOR is the Vakinankaratra region where are located in the central highland of Madagascar. However, FIFAMANOR can extend its working area through the agreement with partners.
